One of MADtv’s best pieces ever. “Freedom Writers” inspired it.
Never did see “Freedom Writers”… or Michelle Pfeiffer in “Dangerous Minds,” for that matter. The memetic double whammy of “nice white lady” and “dangerous high school” does nothing for me.
There’s a good documentary, though, that shows a true version of this phenomenon… “OT: Our Town.” Nice White Lady in a Compton high school encourages her black and Latino kids to mount a production of the Thornton Wilder play.
Yes, Virginia, there are Nice White Ladies.
Hilarious . . . seen OT: Our Town . . . didn’t care for it.

LOL, has everyone forgotten about Dangerous Minds that movie that Coolio did the soundtrack for with “Gangster’s Paradise”. A perfect spoof.
Or even that episode of South Park where Cartman is forced to teach a class of “inner city youths” and he goes “You know how white people have been so successful at school for so many years? Because we’re so good at cheating.” And he spends the whole episode teaching them how to cheat.
@ Ash: That South Park episode was primarily spoofing Stand And Deliver, the movie with Edward James Olmos as an Hispanic teacher in a tough inner city high school. A slight variation on the genre; Eric Catman even DRESSES like Olmos! I LOL whenever I think about it, because I was surprised anyone even remembered that movie so many years later. “How do I reach these keeeeeds?!!!”
I watched this and thought you know who would like this and yep they already commented. MadTv used to be my show back in the Orlando Jones days.
