Today we’ve got closeted black men dressed up as women passing for black masculinity in the movies. Give me Jim Kelly kicking white guys asses any day of the week instead.
I love this scene too! It was hot right on West end Avenue here in New York. My grandmother’s building wasn’t too far from there. The way he rolled up on those cops was priceless!
See, this is why I love Soul Cinema (aka so-called Blaxploitation movies). Where else can you get set up by The Man, beat the hell out of 17 cops who never get a chance to reach for a nightstick or a gun, and do it all without ruffling the Nehru suit and your fro maintains spherical perfection.
Classic! I’ll have to watch the whole movie again. It’s been awhile.
Thanks for the reminder Sergio.
“The greatest scene ever in Black Cinema”

That’s pretty badass, but why does Jim Kelly have to sound like an orgasming seal?
