Diversions – Shaquille O’Neal, Art Curator? Why not? According to the LA Times, basketball great Shaquille O’Neal will be curating a gallery show in New York appropriately titled “Size DOES Matter,” which explores the idea of scale in contemporary art. The show is scheduled to open in February 2010 at New York’s Flag Art Foundation, an exhibition space in the Chelsea neighborhood. “Size DOES Matter” will feature 52 works by 39 artists, including five special commissions. The show will also feature work by a few artists you all should be familiar with – Nigerian/British Yinka Shonibare (whom I’ve profiled previously on this blog), Kehinde Wiley (he of Passing/Posing fame), Jeff Koons, Chuck Close and others. I’m there! More on the exhibit HERE. |
