Tracy Morgan Is On The Rise (Cast To Star In New Comedy About ID Theft)
Deadline reports that Warner Bros has cast Tracy Morgan to star in ID Theft, “a comedy that casts him as a cash-strapped father who sees a shortcut out of his struggles when the credit card of a suburban dad lands in his lap.” Also, Paramount separately has Morgan set to star in Freshman Roommates – Hollywood’s take on the now infamous Nigerian 411 email scam. In the film, Morgan will star as the bratty son of an African dictator, who really does need a small cash infusion to claim his inheritance (a common thread found within those scam emails). When he finally gets a response to his e-mail (sent by a white college student in a drunken stupor), he flies to the American city where the sender lives, and shows up on his doorstep. Hilarity & hijinx no doubt ensue. This project was actually announced back in late 2008/early 2009. It’s still listed as being in development. Upcoming, he’s got Chris Rock’s Death At A Funeral remake, and David O Russell’s Nailed, starring alongside Jessica Biel and Jake Gyllenhaal. Both films will be out this year. 1 comment to Tracy Morgan Is On The Rise (Cast To Star In New Comedy About ID Theft) |
