So, with his adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf scheduled to begin shooting in June (with a January 14, 2011 release planned), I’m sure you all are just dying to know what he’ll be directing after that!

Well, surprise, Lionsgate has just acquired rights to Perry’s 11th film, Madea’s Big Happy Family (an adaptation of his new stage play, Madea’s Happy Family, which is currently on tour in the U.S.) aiming for an Easter release – specifically, April 22, 2011… about a year from now.

So, roughly a month after he picks up his Best Director Oscar for his work on For Colored Girls, he’ll begin press work on Madea’s Big Happy Family
