Un Homme Qui Crie to be shown at Chicago International Film Festival

iwillfollowNeatly following up on Tambay’s post below, Un Homme qui crie will be screened next month at the Chicago International Film Festival (Oct.7-21) so our readers in the Chicagoland area will get their change to see it very soon.

Among the other films of interest showing at the festival this year will be the previously announced films MOOZ-lum, Legacy with Idris Elba, along with the Brazilian film Besouro, Mario Van Peebles’ genial road movie Black, White and Blues (which got a rave review in Variety back in May) with Peebles and Michael Clarke Duncan co-starring, and Ava DuVernay’s highly praised domestic drama I Will Follow with Salli Richardson-Whitfield (pictured), Omari Hardwick and Blair Underwood.

Any chance of S&D running a contest for Festival passes?

This sounds like a good crop this year. I saw Mooz-lum and I Will Follow at Urbanworld. Mooz-lum starts with a bang and winds into a low hum. I Will Follow starts with a low hum and ends with a bang. Both make great music in their own way. I wish these two new directors great success on the festival run.

  • I enjoyed both films. Both are not your average style of film making. Americans are so craved by the shoot them up, fast past type of whole lot of nothing films. Both films gives you a different perspective of storytelling I haven’t seen in a long time “BY” Black film makers. I wish them peace of mind that their films have already opened many minds in such a short amount of time and will continue to on their festival circuit journey.

PS: Be sure to check out the only EXCLUSIVE interview with Nia Long at the World Premiere of MOOZ-Lum with CINEMATIQ Magazine.

Also, write up of both films in the magazine plus a video interview with Ava dir. of I WILL FOLLOW.
