awesome
I know Halle was cheesing extra hard being in the same category of legend and on the cover with Sidney Poitier. What an honor for her.
Very fitting.
Sorry guys, I wouldn’t consider Halle a legend. But a “Legend” she is not. Boo.. Hiss… Boo…
Even if she was the greatest actress ever, her body of work doesn’t scream “legend.”
“Even if she was the greatest actress ever, her body of work doesn’t scream ‘legend.’” — VichusSmith
And Poitier’s body of work does???
She’s definitely a legend, but legend doesn’t necessarily equal stupendously talented. He doesn’t look like he wants to be there though…
I think Halle deserves to be there. Whether you like it or not she is the first black woman to win “Best Actress” (not the slightly lesser “Best Supporting Actress”) Oscar. I also think Sidney is just trying to look bemused. You know they took over a hundred photos during the shoot and this is the one they chose.
great cover and Halle was a place in history which definitely makes her a legend
The Hollywood Reporter’s reasoning for the pairing is that Sidney and Halle represent the first blacks to win the Best Actor and Best Actress Oscars. So by that measure, Halle definitely deserves to be there.
As I suspected, this isn’t the only cover for the legends issue. There are three. Though the other two are group shots featuring several actors. (Also, James Earl Jones is featured on one of the other covers.) So it’s cool that Sidney and Halle got a cover where it’s just the two of them.

OK, good points.
I love it!
Again, with all the older people who have lived a lifetime working in their field and are REMARKABLY talented “Legends” why would Halle be on their Oscar or not? It just doesn’t fit. SMH. Ruby Dee or Cicely Tyson would have been a better choice IMO.
Yeah Darkan, Ruby Dee would’ve been a fantastic choice since she and Sidney also worked together (was it more than once?). Dag. At the same time, its hard to complain about looking at Halle Berry.
Damn, some of you all are just dense. There’s a reason given and you still gotta wax a bunch of BS.
:headshake:
Wow… I wish I had some fake gold. People will accept anything. And we wonder why the music and film industry is in turmoil…
Cool cover, I like it.
