The Shadow And Act Calendar – Your Guide To Everything “Black” On Screen In 2011This seemed like a good idea, so here it is… a calendar showing all the dates and times (where available) of NEW films and NEW TV shows, opening in theaters, or debuting on TV, that feature people of African descent in prominent roles, whether in front of, or behind the camera. I also included notable film festivals that we’ll be covering. As the title states, call it The Shadow And Act Calendar – Your Guide To Everything “Black” On Screen. This one is for the 1st quarter of this year (January, February, March); I’ll publish a new one at the start of every quarter. Check it out in full below; you can also download the entire thing as a PDF file by clicking HERE, if you wish. And if I missed something significant, let me know, and I’ll add it. CLICK TO ENLARGE:

This is a great list of movies to look forward to this year. Don’t forget that South Africa’s prized film, White Wedding, is finally being released on DVD Tuesday, January 25. I found it to be a really funny movie packed with car-wrecks, racial tension, and even a wild goat! Check it out the trailer at http://www.whiteweddingmovie.com
