TONIGHT – Ava DuVernay Discusses The African American Film Festival Releasing Movement On S&A Livecast
Reading reactions to the news across the blogosphere, I noticed that, for some, it’s not entirely clear what exactly this new alliance means, as a number of questions/concerns have been raised regarding the project; and I thought it would be a good idea to have Ava on to talk about AFFRM in detail, from its origins, to its operations, its expected or hopeful impact on the black cinema landscape, both short and long term, and answer any questions you may have about the association. Consider it a companion piece to the New York Times piece, which I’d say was more of a summary of the whole shebang. So, if you have ANY questions, comments, or concerns about AFFRM, leave them all below in the comment section, or send me an email, or a message on Facebook, and I’ll add them to my agenda for Wednesday’s live-cast. Of course, you can also call in live during the program, and share your thoughts with us - 347-215-8777. The show will also be available for download afterward. You can access our BlogTalkRadio page, where the live-cast will air, HERE. You can access AFFRM’s newly launched website HERE, and become a fan on Facebook HERE.
