Okay. This is odd, isn’t it? Why isn’t the show on OWN???
Good observation.
I find OWN very white focused i understand that Oprah s trying to appeal to a wide audience. But her show lacks diversity show after show features all whites the only drop of diversity on her show is the Gayle King Show and Master Class that’s pretty much it.
Lifetime has always been about story telling kind of like Iconoclasts on the Sundance Channel.
Well, that’s not entirely true…there’s Lisa Ling.
I was thinking exactly the same thing
That was also my first thought. My second thought was would Ms. Angelou really be able to do this. She’s looked so frail every time I’ve seen her lately.
That was my second thought too
And that was my first thought. Ms. Angelou is not the most entertaining woman in the world. Oprah might have passed on this possible bore fest.
As Maya moves up in age, I find myself saying, “come on Maya, spit it out”. I mean, the long pauses and loooong slooooooow speech pattern has me running to the bathroom and the refrigerator. I know she’s going to say something inspirational, but damn, I get tired waiting for the big bang.
Agree w all that has been posted
Why isnt this on OWN
MA always looks so frail so she’ll be able to do this? Lately I always see her sitting down, so will she coook sitting down ?
I can’t believe what I am reading. DR. MAYA ANGELOU turned 83 today! She is a vibrant and active senior citizen who has brilliantly impacted our world, especially for African American. I believe her slow speech pattern is wisdom in action. I would love the opportunity to just sit at her feet and just listen.
I think she is owed a little more respect.
We all have a right to our opinions and I respect yours. I’m just saying….
