Kimberly Elise Teams With Nollywood Star & Ghanaian Filmmaker For “Ties That Bind”
The film, titled Ties That Bind, is said to be a multi-million production, which director Leila describes as her biggest project yet, and “tells the story of 3 women from different walks of life, bound together by a similar pain; the loss of a child. In a destined meeting, in a small village, the women journey together to redemption, love, life and forgiveness as they renovate a dilapidated clinic for the villagers.” Also starring are Randal Batinkoff (Kick-Ass) and Ebbe Bassey, who has co-starred in 2 short films for Shadow And Act Filmmaker Challenge winner, Nikyatu Jusu (African Booty Scratcher and Say Grace Before Drowning). I haven’t been able to find much info on this; it’s not even listed on Kimberly Elise’s IMDB page. The only coverage it’s received is in the Ghanaian and Nigerian press mostly. The movie is indeed currently being shot, and a search turned up the above image, which shows Elise with the other two starring actresses. You’ll have more when I know more… but if you know something I don’t, please chime in.

I’m definitely interested in this.
Excited to hear about this
Thank you for reporting this, and thanks to this site for keeping Nollywood on the radar.
Thanks! Heard about this some time back. She will be replacing Nia Long for the role. Africans and African americans need to unite and collaborate more. Yeah I said it.
I’m so excited for Kimberly! She is THE BEST black actress in Hollywood!!!!
NOT! By far, she is not the best.
