Fresh off of her series regular role in the new season of Netflix’s Mindhunter, Sierra McClain has landed a lead role in the new 9-1-1 spinoff, 9-1-1: Lone Star, opposite Rob Lowe, Liv Tyler, Ronen Rubinstein and Jim Parrack.

It is the first spinoff of the flagship series which stars Angela Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Peter Krause, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Ryan Guzman and Rockmond Dunbar.

From series creators/executive producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear, the series will follow Lowe’s character, Owen, “a sophisticated New York firefighter who, along with his son (Rubinstein), relocates to the Texas capital and must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life.”

McClain will play Grace Ryder, “an Austin-based 9-1-1 call center operator and wife of firefighter Judd Ryder (Parrack).” She also had a recent stint on Empire as Nessa.
Deadline broke the news of McClain’s casting.
