Weekend at Bernie’s gets a reimagining in BET’s upcoming original comedy movie Fall Girls, starring Amara La Negra.

The Love & Hip Hop: Miami singer and reality TV personality will star as Paige Davis, a woman who just got promoted to President of Sales at Wellington Tech. According to the description, Paige’s boss Simone invites Paige and her friend  Tyra to a weekend vacation and party the night away only to wake up to Simone being dead! Now Paige and her friend race against the clock to figure out who killed Simone before they have to take the “fall” for Simone’s death.

The cast includes Erica Hubbard from Let’s Stay Together as Tyra and Joely Fisher from Last Man Standing as Simone. Other cast members include Tami Roman (Baskebtall Wives and Apple’s upcoming Are You Sleeping?) and Paris Phillips (Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood).

Fall Girls is directed and executive produced by Chris Stokes. Co-producers include Marques Houston, Jerome Jones, Jarrell Houston, Juanita Stokes, Brett Dismuk and Footage Films. Fall Girls will premiere on BET and BET Her Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. ET.
