Morgan Cooper, the director of the viral concept trailer, Bel-Airwill write, executive produce and direct a comedy series at the upcoming, short-form streaming service, Quibi. Gabrielle Union is on board as one of the project’s executive producers. The project is based at Sony Pictures TV, which is where Union and her I’ll Have Another production banner are under a deal.

The description: After an injury derails his chances of going pro, a former basketball star from Kansas City becomes a national barista champion. He decides to move back home and open a coffee shop in his old neighborhood, hoping to revitalize the struggling community.

Quibi has multiple projects in the works for its upcoming service, including ones with Kevin Hart, Idris Elba, Trevor Noah, Queen Latifah and many more.

Cooper also recently released another short film, U SHOOT VIDEOS?
