Diverse Representation is bringing together a slew of entertainment companies to educate and expose Black professionals and creatives to various career opportunities in the entertainment industry. Black Americans make up 13.4% of the US population yet Black talent is underrepresented across all facets of the entertainment industry.

With their two-day virtual summit, which takes place October 22-23, The Black Entertainment Career Summit is hoping to begin bridging the gap.

Scheduled speakers this year include Gila Jones (COO, Westbrook), Jaleesa Diaz (Multicultural Marketing
Manager, HBO and HBO Max), Brandon Lingle-Adams (Entertainment Recruiter, NBCUniversal), Kenni Kaufman (Senior Recruiter, WarnerMedia), and Shanique Bonelli- Moore (Executive Director of Inclusion, UTA).

Participants will also have the opportunity to submit their resumes for inclusion in Diverse Representation’s resume bank. This resume bank will be shared and distributed amongst all the participating companies. The participating companies include AEG, Westbrook, Wasserman, WarnerMedia, NBCUniversal, United Talent Agency (UTA), and more.

“We are excited to present this first-of-its-kind event,” said Jaia Thomas, Founder and President of Diverse Representation. “To date, there have been very few programs or events specifically focused on recruiting and retaining more Black professionals in the entertainment industry. We hope this event helps usher in a greater number of Black professionals in television, film, music, digital, and more.”

Over the past year, Diverse Representation has also launched the Black Entertainment Executives Pipeline Program, the Black Music Executives Pipeline Program and the Diverse Sports Executives Pipeline Program.
