Fans of Aldis Hodge surely remember the actor from his time on the WGN drama Underground and can prepare to see Hodge in an entirely different light. The North Carolina native is set to star in the upcoming crime drama City on a Hill, which has been picked up to series at Showtime.

Created by executive producer Chuck MacLean and based on an original idea by Ben Affleck, City on a Hill will be a fictionalized account of the “Boston Miracle” police operation that ended the dark period Boston was rife with violent criminals emboldened by local law enforcement. Driving this change in the city is assistant district attorney Decourcy Ward, portrayed by Hodge, a Brooklyn native who forms an unlikely alliance with Jackie Rhodes, a crooked  FBI veteran played by Kevin Bacon who doesn’t play by the book. Joining forces, Ward and Bacon go toe-to-toe with a family of armed car robbers from Charlestown in a case that eventually disrupts Boston’s criminal justice.

City on a Hill also stars Jonathan Tucker, Mark O’Brien, Jill Hennessy, Lauren E, Banks, Amanda Clayton, Kevin Chapman, Jere Shea and Kevin Dunn. The crime drama will be executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and Emmy nominee Jennifer Todd. Kevin Bacon will also serve as co-executive producer. City on a Hill is set to air in 2019.
