'Fear': Amandla Stenberg To Star In Reboot Of 1996 Mark Wahlberg-Reese Witherspoon Thriller

Amandla Stenberg has been tapped to star in a reboot of Fear at Universal.

Deadline first broke the news of her casting in the film, which was released in 1996 starring an early Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon as a young couple, David and Nicole. The latter soon learns the former's charming personality is actually covering a dark side.

Jonathan Herman, the co-writer of Straight Outta Compton, is scripting. 

Stenberg recently toplined the critically-acclaimed YA film, The Hate U Give. She's currently in production on the Netflix series, The Eddy, with Andre Holland.
