If the first season of Euphoria revealed anything, it’s that HBO is not straying away from the conversation surrounding mental health.

As part of “It’s OK,” an initiative whose goal is to destigmatize mental illness and encourage conversations of mental health issue, HBO just announced that it will add mental health awareness “bumpers” ahead of some of its shows that will specify which type of mental illness is documented.

“HBO has always been at the forefront of telling stories featuring complex characters, some of whom deal with mental illness, from The Sopranos to Euphoria, encouraging more conversation around the different facets of mental health,” said Jason Mulderig, vice president of brand & product marketing at HBO. “We are not saying ‘viewer discretion is advised.’ We are saying ‘viewer conversation is encouraged.’”

The bumpers will also function as a call to action to bring awareness to certain mental illnesses for HBO’s viewing audience.

In addition to the disclaimers, HBO will also feature a short form contest series called Doctor Commentaries, which will include conversations about prominent scenes from HBO that tackle mental health.
