Marlon Wayans is teaming up with Neal H. Moritz for the action-comedy Ride Or Die.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wayans, who wrote the script with Rick Alvarez, will star in the film as Martin Banks, a robbery detective tasked with tracking down a billion-dollar stash of deadly opioids taken from a pharmaceutical company vault. Joining Banks along for the ride is narcotics detective Tami Moore.

“Rick and I conceived this as a franchise and collaborating with Neal, who has mastered the art of franchises, makes it a perfect fit,” Wayans said.

Ride Or Die is being described by Wayans as “Bad Boys with romance” Or “When Harry Met Sally with guns.”

“I was lucky enough to get a chance to read this script early… and I had to jump on it. Rarely do you read scripts with such a great concept and relationship,” said Moritz. Ride Or Die will be produced under Moritz’ production company, Original Film.

Wayans has two big projects coming up soon the Aretha Franklin biopic, Respect, and Sofia Coppola’s Apple/A24 film, On the Rocks.
