Romany Malco has been tapped as one of the leads for the upcoming ABC drama pilot, A Million Little Things.

Here’s the description: “Friendship isn’t a big thing – it’s a million little things,” is described as being in the tone of The Big Chill. The hourlong drama with comedy elements is about a group of friends who, for different reasons and in different ways, all are stuck in their lives, but when one of them dies unexpectedly, it’s just the wake-up call the others need to finally start living.”

And his character: “Rome, a depressed but very successful commercial director. Not quite the gig he went to film school for, he longs to be doing something more important than making the cheese in a Little Caesar’s pizza look delicious on camera.”

In other ABC drama news, Titus Makin and Richard T. Jones will be series regulars in the straight-to-series-ordered, The Rookie.

They join Afton Williamson (The Breaks) in the Nathan Fillion-led light drama. Fillion is a 40-year-old rookie cop pursuing his dream of becoming a police officer, and Williamson is his partner.

Makin will play Officer Jackson West, “an eager rookie whose father is a high-level commander in the LAPD.”

Jones will be his nemesis, Sergeant Wade Gray, an LAPD commander.
