Before winning a Daytime Emmy Award for her work as a host on the talk show The Real, Tamera Mowry-Housley made herself known as an actress on shows such as Sister, Sister and Strong Medicine. Now, with her leading role as Emma in A Christmas Miracle, Mowry-Housley is making her grand entrance into the arena of Hallmark Christmas movies.

Here’s an official description of the film: “The ever-optimistic single mom Emma Sanderson is looking for a Christmas miracle to write about for the lifestyle magazine at which she has landed a temporary job. While following her lead on the story, Emma discovers unexpected romance with a supportive colleague and takes it upon herself to bring about a Christmas miracle for a lonely street musician.”

Aside from Mowry-Housley, A Christmas Miracle also stars Brooks Darnell and Barry Bostwick. Mowry-Housley last acted in a short stint on the ABC Family (now Freeform) series, Melissa & Joey. Her last regular role on television was in 2009 on the short-lived ABC Family series, Roommates.

The movie will premiere on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries on Thursday, December 14. Watch a preview below.
