Young love is already fraught enough, but Netflix’s newest series The Innocents makes growing pains even harder by adding superpowers.

The British series, co-created by Simon Duric (Black Mirror) and Hania Elkington (The North London Book of the Dead) stars Sorcha Groundsell as June and Percelle Ascott as Harry, two teens who runaway to be together. However, as the official description states, “the extraordinary gift they possess unleashes powerful forces intent on dividing them forever.”

The trailer gives a distinct look at June’s powers, which includes the ability to appear as anyone, something Harry has to realize the hard way. While the show is most certainly a sci-fi thriller, it’s also a mystery, since apparently people like June are dangerous. As to how they’re dangerous remains to be seen.

The Innocents will be available for streaming on Netflix August 24.
