The rumor mill has been buzzing about The Young and The Restless star Mishael Morgan and her status with the show.

The actress has dropped from one of the show’s series regulars to a recurring cast member — a move she recently announced on her Instagram Stories.

After nine years on the hit daytime soap opera, Morgan revealed her new status as Amanda Sinclair while addressing exit rumors.

“Okay, guys. So, I just wrapped from my last scenes back at Y&R and I just wanted to let the cat out of the bag a little bit,” Morgan starts off saying, according to Soap Opera Network. “A lot of people have noticed that my name is not on the main credits anymore, and I wanted everybody to know that it was my decision. I decided actually back in December that I wanted to take a bit of a step back from the show.”

The actress continued by explaining her reasons.

“I just feel like at this point in my life, and at the point in my career, I wanted to mix things up a little bit,” she said. “But Y&R will always be home, and I have so appreciated this safe place to land that they’ve given me so I know that I can be back. They are like family to me, and coming back just reminds me of that.”

Morgan makes it clear that she is not leaving 'The Young and The Restless'

Although it’s been rumored that Morgan was planning to exit the daytime soap opera, she made it clear to fans that she is still on the show, just as a recurring character.

“I’m still on it! I’m still going to be on recurring, so you’ll still catch me in Genoa City,” she said.

The actress ended the video by thanking fans for their support.

“I’m so appreciative of you guys and all the fans who have supported me along this ‘Y&R’ journey,” she said before adding, “I love you guys so much. Thank you guys for being a part of this. Keep looking out for new things.”
