Vagrant Queen, starring Adriyan Rae, Tim Rozon, Alex McGregor and Paul du Toit, now has a premiere date.

The 10-episode series, based on the hit comic book series published by Vault Comics, will premiere on SyFy March 27 at 10 p.m. ET. The TV adaptation’s creator, Jem Garrard, will act as showrunner and executive producer, heading an all-female team of directors and writers. The series was also filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, adding to South Africa’s international film production credentials.

Described as a “fun, violent, snarky space opera,” Vagrant Queen follows Elida (Rae) who grew up as a child queen but became an orphan who must scavage across the galaxy to outrun the government who wants to kill her bloodline. Her friend Isaac (Rozon) comes back into her life, claiming her mother Xevelyn is still alive, leading them to join with a new ally Amae (McGregor) to create a rescue plan to put Xevelyn and Elida back in their rightful positions as royalty. The plan will also put her back in the crosshairs of an old enemy, Commander Lazaro (du Toit).

Along with Garrard, Lance Samuels and Daniel Iron will also executive produce along with Vault Comics’ Damian Wassel and F.J. DeSanto.
