Peacock is bidding farewell to two shows that had short runs on the platform.

The NBCU streamer has cancelled its YA series One Of Us Is Lying and Vampire Academy. Though Peacock was proud of both shows, it couldn’t find the audience to justify further seasons, resulting in the cancellations. It’s also been reported that Peacock is moving into its next phase of development which includes more projects geared toward an older demographic.

'One Of Us Is Lying' ran for two seasons.

The series, which is based on a novel from Karen M. McManus, “follows what happens when five high schoolers walk into detention and only four make it out alive. Everyone is a suspect, and everyone has something to hide.”

It debuted in October 2021 and was the first Peacock pilot to go to series. In October 2022, the series aired its second season.

'Vampire Academy' is based on Richelle Mead’s book series.

From Julie Plec and Marguerite MacIntyre, Vampire Academy ”is set in a world of privilege and glamour, where two young women’s friendship transcends their strikingly different classes as they prepare to complete their education and enter royal vampire society. This serialized and sexy drama combines the elegance of aristocratic romance and the supernatural thrills of the vampire genre.”

The series premiered on Peacock in September 2022.

Julie Plec is already developing a new project for Peacock.

Though Vampire Academy has come to an end on Peacock, Plec has something new in store for the streamer.

According to Deadline, Plec and her Vampire Academy co-exec producer Adam Starks are working on a mystery drama series titled Freeman, which is set in a small town in Georgia.
