Jodie Turner-Smith, star of the upcoming film Queen & Slim, has joined Michael B. Jordan in the Tom Clancy film adaptation, Without Remorse.

Michael B. Jordan will star as John Clark in a film series at Paramount, where at least two films are planned based on the books Rainbow Six and Without Remorse.

This is the description of Clark, from Variety, who first broke the news:  Clark, aka John Terrence Kelly, is an ex-Navy Seal-turned-operations officer for the CIA and would go on to appear in 17 novels starting with 1988’s The Cardinal of the Kremlin. Though mainly seen as a secondary character who helps CIA analysis Jack Ryan with more of the physical elements of any mission, Clark finally stepped into the spotlight with Without Remorse, which tells his backstory on how he came to work for the CIA. Clark was also the focus of Rainbow Six, which followed his new task force and its mission to protect the world from its greatest terrorist threats.

Stefano Sollima is the director and Taylor Sheridan is the writer of the film. The character has been previously portrayed on the big screen by the likes of Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber.

Turner-Smith’s character in the movie will be Karen Greer. Because the character is non-canon, no details are known. It is also unknown if she will return for the planned Rainbow Six film.

Paramount had reportedly been trying to do a John Clark film for a while, with Christopher McQuarrie and Ryan Reynolds previously attached.

Variety also broke the news of Turner-Smith’s casting.
